landmarker "LIGHT": Download and
Installation
Download: landmarker2.0.8.zip for Windows
(7, Vista, XP or 2000).
Installation procedure: Follow steps 1 to 6 carefully
(probably you can skip step
3).
1) Unzip landmarker2.0.8.zip e.g. in
c:\ on your computer, creating a directory named
c:\landmarker2.0.8
The directory contains several files, including
landmarker.exe, determine_user_home.exe and a subdirectory
named landmarker_preferences.
(In addition there
are some example data files; e.g. tron.stl.)
2)
Copy the subdirectory named
landmarker_preferences and its
contents to your user home directory.
(If you already have a previous version of landmarker on your computer, then be sure to take a backup of landmarker_preferences.tcl in case you have any personal settings there.)
(Under Windows XP, the user home directory is usually
c:\Documents and Settings\Username\ where Username is your login name. Possible
exceptions are if you are on a networked computer and your home directory is on
a remote disk. You may determine the name of your
user home directory by running the program determine_user_home.exe (by
double-clicking on it's icon).
(Under Windows Vista, the user home directory is usually
c:\Users\Username\ where Username is your login name. You may execute the
program determine_user_home.exe to determine your home directory if you are in doubt.)
3) If you decided
to put the landmarker2.0.8 directory (from item 1 above) in another
directory than c:\ then you need to make a change in the
file named landmarker_preferences.tcl in the
landmarker_preferences directory. Otherwise: go to 4)
below.
Open the file landmarker_preferences.tcl in a text editor (e.g. WodPad or NotePad: you find them under "All Programs->Accessories on your Computer). Locate the line with the following statement:
if {$platform == "windows"} {set landmarker_home "C:/landmarker2.0.8/"}
and change it to
if {$platform == "windows"} {set landmarker_home "F:/myprograms/landmarker2.0.8/"}
assuming that you have put landmarker2.0.8 in F:\myprograms\ (note that you need to use forward slashes in the directory name).
4) Create a shortcut to the file named landmarker.exe and place the shortcut on your desktop.
(Right-click the landmarker.exe icon and select "Create
shortcut". Drag and drop the shortcut (Shortcut to
landmarker.exe) onto your desktop.)
5) Execute landmarker.exe
(Double-click the Shortcut to landmarker.exe icon on
your desktop.)
6)
Test it: Load a surface
file (Load(New)->Surface File), e.g. tron.stl.
